Step-by-Step Guide to Upload Your Identity Documents to the Student Portal
Step 1: Log in to Student Portal

After attending orientation, go to the student portal and log in using the email you used to sign up for the program.
Step 2: Confirm Orientation Completion

Once logged in, find the box that says “Attend Your Scheduled Orientation.”

Within two hours of attending orientation, this box will be checked off automatically, allowing you to move forward.
Step 3: Check What Documents You Need

Click on the box that reads “Check What Documents You Need.”

You’ll be asked a series of questions to help determine what documents you still need.
Step 4: Answer Document Questions

For each document, answer “Yes” if you have it, or “No” if you need help obtaining it. You’ll be guided to resources for assistance if you select “No.”

Birth Certificate: You need the original or a certified copy (not a photocopy).

Social Security Card: Must be the actual card.

Proof of Residence: You’ll need two documents, but will only upload one now.

Driver’s License: You’ll be asked whether you have one from the state you currently live in, and whether there are any issues with it (e.g., fines, suspensions).

Step 5: Review Required Documents

You’ll see a reminder of all the documents needed for the program:

Proof of Residence

Birth Certificate

DOT Physical Permit

CDL A

Step 6: Ready to Move On

If you need help obtaining documents, click “First, click here to get your documents.”

If you already have your documents or have a plan in place, click “Second, click here to move on.”
Step 7: Upload Your Driver’s License

Focus on the section labeled “Upload Your Driver’s License.”

Click into that section to start the upload process.
Step 8: Choose or Take a Photo

If you already have a clear photo of your license, select “Choose a file” to upload it from your device.

If not, you can use your phone’s camera to take a photo on the spot.
Step 9: Confirm Image

A preview of the photo will appear. If it’s clear and correct, click “Upload your photo.”

If it’s not clear or it’s the wrong file, you can remove the image and upload a new one.
Step 10: Upload Confirmation

You’ll see a confirmation screen once the upload is complete.

Allow up to two business days for processing.
Step 11: Continue Later

The rest of the documents (Social Security card, proof of residence, etc.) will be uploaded later in the program using the same steps.
