Requirements to Request DOT/DMV Funds
Before requesting funds, you must complete all of the following:
✅ Complete all Pre-Permit classes
✅ Score 80% or higher on all Pre-Permit tests
✅ Submit all identity documents (Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, Valid In State Driver's License, Proof of Residency)
Once these requirements are met, you will become eligible to request your DOT/DMV funds. These funds are to cover the cost of BOTH your DOT physical and your Permit (CLP).
What Happens Next
After you’ve met the requirements

Please allow up to 48 hours for the FreeWorld team to enter your name into the national driver training database.

Once you’ve been entered, you will receive a text message notification confirming that you’re ready for the next step.

After receiving that text, your Student Portal will automatically update with a new screen.
Submitting the DOT/DMV Funds Request
When the new screen appears in your Student Portal
1. Click the box that says "Request DOT/DMV Funds" to begin your request.
2. Carefully read all the instructions on the screen.
3. Enter the correct PayPal email address
🚨 Important: Double-check your PayPal email before entering. If the email is incorrect, your funds could be delayed or sent to the wrong account.
Important things to remember
- Allow 48 business hours for the requested funds to arrive in your PayPal account
- $100 or less should be the cost of your DOT physical
- No drug test is needed for your DOT physical
- Check YES for the CLP/CDL Applicant or Holder section of your Medical Examiner's Certificate
- BOTH your DOT physical and permit are to be covered with the funds sent by FreeWorld
⚠️ If you are a returning Free Agent and FreeWorld has already provided funding for a DOT physical and permit in the past, we will not be able to cover the cost again.
You will be responsible for paying for a new DOT physical and permit out of pocket.
