🚗 Getting There, Together: How FreeWorld Supports Your Ride
We know transportation can be a challenge, and we’re here to support you every step of the way. FreeWorld offers Uber as a backup option when there’s no other safe or reliable way for you to get to school or appointments.
Before requesting an Uber, we encourage you to explore other available options:
🚶♂️ Carpooling with classmates
🚌 Public transit (if accessible)
🧑🤝🧑 Asking a friend or family member for help
🚲 Using a bike or walking if you're close enough
Every time a Free Agent is able to provide their own ride, it helps us stretch our resources farther, allowing us to support even more people on this same journey. That kind of teamwork makes a huge impact. 💪
Here are some Transportation Resources Listed by City. If you have any suggestions to add to the list, just let a Success Coach know! We want to help as many people as we can in your area, and every resource helps.
But if nothing else works out, don’t worry. We’ve got you. Just follow the steps to request your Uber.
📍 Does FreeWorld help with transportation to any location?
Not quite — Uber rides are available only between pre-approved locations. By default, these include:
🏠 Your home address
🩺 DOT clinics near you
🏢 DMV/DPS locations near you
🚛 Your assigned trucking school

We can only provide transportation for program-related purposes. If you need an Uber ride to or from any other location, you'll need to add that location as an approved stop. Please make sure to request custom Uber locations at least 2 days in advance so FreeWorld has time to process your request. Here’s how to do it:
📍 How do I request to add an approved location?
- Go to the Student Portal: app.freeworld.org
- Click the green Menu button at the top right.
- Click on “Uber requests.”
- Click on “Request to add an approved location.”

Fill out the form that pops up with the details of the location you want to add.

Wait up to 2 business days for your location request to be approved.
📲 You will receive a text message from FreeWorld once your request is approved.
🚕 How do I order the Uber ride when I’m ready?
- Go to the Student Portal at app.freeworld.org.
- Click on the Menu button.
- Click on “Get an Uber ride.”
- Click “Other reasons…” and then click “Continue” through the remaining questions to complete your request.

- Make sure your requested location has been approved before ordering your ride.
- Always keep an eye on your phone for texts from FreeWorld confirming approvals or ride updates.
