In September 2025, FreeWorld had to make some difficult changes to our program. These changes vary by location, so please read carefully to understand how they may affect you.
Please note: If you have already been enrolled in trucking school. There will be no change to your experience.
If you are located in Oakland or San Francisco, California:
Your FreeWorld experience will continue as planned. No changes are being made in your area.
If you are located in:
- Rochester, MN
- Vegas, NV
- Dallas, TX
You may be able to qualify for trucking school tuition funding through your local workforce board. To find out, log in to your Student Portal (app.freeworld.org). Then, navigate to “Menu” > “Documents” > “Opt in to WB Enrollment” > watch the full video > “Accept.” This will enable us to quickly determine if you are eligible to be referred to the Workforce Board. If you are not able to qualify for support from your local Workforce Board, FreeWorld will support you to get a Permit, but we will not be able to pay for your trucking school tuition.
Please note: if you don’t see that button, that means you will not qualify for support from your local Workforce Board. FreeWorld will support you to get a Permit.

- Houston, TX
- Trenton, NJ
- Newark, NJ
- Phoenix, AZ
- Stockton, CA
- Modesto, CA
- Denver, CO
We can continue to support you in earning your Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP). However, we will not be able to pay for your trucking school tuition. Your CLP is a valuable step in your journey and opens other doors. Check out here for more information.
Once you get your permit, we will be excited to talk to you about possible ways to attend school, including working with you to develop a savings plan or helping you understand the costs. Check out this page for information on resources we are compiling for alternative options.
