Funds can only be requested once you have completed the following:
Attend all of your FreeWorld permit classes
Take and pass all class tests with an 80% or higher
- Upload all identity documents
Once FreeWorld sends the funds, we'll text you an update. Allow 48 business hours for the requested funds to arrive in your PayPal account. Please schedule your appointment accordingly.
Your DOT physical should cost $100 or less. Any remaining funds are intended for your permit, so be sure to call around to find the most affordable provider.
A drug test is not required for your DOT physical. A urine sample will be taken for your overall health. Requesting a drug test for this exam will unnecessarily increase the cost.

On your Medical Examiner’s Certificate, check “YES” in the CLP/CDL Applicant or Holder section (bottom right-hand corner). We cannot approve DOT physicals without this box checked.
What you need to bring to your physical
- Driver's License
- Glasses or contacts, if applicable
- Any medications you take in their prescribed packaging
- DOT/DMV funds from FreeWorld for your physical
Transportation
We encourage you to explore all local transportation options- such as public transit, carpooling with family or friends, or walking before considering ride share services.
If no other options are available, Uber access can be requested directly through the menu in your student portal. Please note that Uber should be used as a last resort due to limited availability.
