Getting Started with Zoom: A Quick Guide for Free Agents
Zoom is a free video conferencing tool we use at FreeWorld for meetings, workshops, and interviews. Here’s a simple guide to help you get started and make the most of your Zoom experience.
✅ How to Join a Zoom Meeting
1. Click the Zoom link sent to you via email/text or calendar invite.
2. If prompted, download and install Zoom (only takes a minute).
3. Click “Join with Computer Audio” so we can hear you.
4. Turn your camera on by clicking the video camera icon (bottom left).
💬 Helpful Zoom Features

Mute/Unmute (Microphone icon). 🎙️
Click to mute or unmute yourself.
Stay muted when not speaking to avoid background noise.
Start/Stop Video (Camera icon):

Use this to turn your video on or off during a meeting.
Keeping video on helps build connection!

Chat (Speech bubble icon): 💬
Use this to type questions or comments to the group or host privately.

Raise Hand (Reactions → ✋):
Use this to signal you'd like to speak without interrupting.

Rename Yourself:
Click “Participants,” hover over your name, click “More,” then “Rename.”
Use your real name so we know who you are!

Find a quiet, well-lit space for your call.
Test your audio and video before the meeting.
Join a few minutes early so you're ready to go.
